Punch single diamond stitch holes with this high quality, Japanese made, single prong 5mm pricking iron, made by Kyoshin Elle of Japan. Made of high-quality tool steel, a mix of alloy steel and carbon steel with high hardness and abrasion resistance properties, this steel is perfect for leathercraft tools and will last for many years. When punching leather, the knurled handle helps you to get a better grip on the tool and hold it securely and comfortably.
This single prong leather stitch punch can produceĀ diamond-shaped holes around difficult edges and with gaps exactly the way you'd like.Ā When working with overlapping leather, this toolĀ is ideal for creating corner stitch holes or precisely putting a stitch hole in just the right location. Suitable for beginners and experienced leatherworker alike.Ā

Please note that you should always use a soft-head hammer to gently tap it into your leatherwork, and that when removing it, you should always take it straight out of your leatherwork rather than shifting it side to side to loosen it, as this may cause the prongs to snap. Avoid using leather that is so thick that it is difficult to remove. A larger pricking iron is advised if you work with leather that is thick enough to make removal difficult.
The prong on this tool is tempered, which makes it extremely strong yet brittle, so overworked prongs will break off rather than bend. This is by design, as the bent prongs of lower-quality pricking irons bend more quickly, potentially damaging your leatherwork by generating permanent uneven stitch holes if the bent prongs are not spotted.
