This unique Michihamono Asamaru Suki Chisel (18mm) flat wood chisel features a thin, finger-held handle that allows for precise manoeuvring, ideal for smoothing both flat and rounded surfaces. Originally crafted smooth out the rounded surfaces of Noh masks, the Asamaru Suki excels in any application where a flawless finish is desired.

The blade boasts a longer tip compared to standard chisels. This, combined with the thin handle, provides exceptional access and control for smoothing concave and rounded surfaces. While traditionally used for Noh masks, the Asamaru Suki shines in various woodcarving tasks. It's perfect for smoothing bowl exteriors, the outside of curved objects, and other flat surfaces.

The blade is constructed from high-speed steel, renowned for its long-lasting sharpness and effortless cutting. The handle is crafted from Hinoki cypress, offering a comfortable and lightweight grip.
