Michihamono from Japan created this medium sweep wood carving gouge. This tool's blade is made of Blue Paper Steel, a material developed especially for high-quality cutting tools. With a tungsten and chromium content, this tool will not chip or wear out easily even after frequent use, yet is easy to sharpen. This tool's tang is placed into a handle made of Japanese cypress wood that has a smooth, rounded finish to provide comfort during use.
Because the corners of the cutting edge do not dig into the wood, the curved blade of this tool is ideal for removing extra wood and completing concave areas. The 3mm wide blade is also great for carving intricate details in your wood projects.
