The Michihamono Wood Carving Tool 9mm Tsuki Nomi Woodworking Shallow U Gouge is ideal for carving channels and flattening in woodworking, especially for hard to reach of otherwise inaccessible parts of your wood carvings. Featuring a white paper steel blade, it provides exceptional sharpness and durability, held in place with a hard wearing metal ferrule. The sakura handle offers a comfortable grip, making it perfect for both professional woodworkers and hobbyists.

This specialised tool is suitable for rough carving to medium finish carving, before making the final touches with more finer tools, or can be put to use flattening the surfaces of reliefs and other woodcarvings, or even splitting long sections of wood. With an exceptionally long blade this U gouge can reach places others just can't reach.

To use, hold the tool at an angle to the wood surface and apply light pressure to make smooth, shallow cuts, with one or both hands.

Product Data:

  • Blade Material: White paper steel No. 2
  • Handle Material: Sakura (cherry wood)
  • Blade Width: 9mm
  • Handle Size: Diameter 18mm x Length 180mm (round shaft)
  • Overall Length: 240mm

Store the tool in a dry location with the blade cap secured and ensure the blade does not contact any hard surface to maintain its sharpness. Keep out of reach of children to prevent accidents. Regular honing will keep the blade in optimal condition for continued precision work.
