Carve wood with this high-quality wood carving chisel from Michihamono, a quality manufacturer of carving tools. This wood carving tool is made of hard and wear resistant high-speed steel that has been sharpened and is ready to use straight out of the packaging. The brass ferrule on the sturdy cherry blossom wood handle may be removed to expose the whole blade. This allows you to adjust the protruding section of the blade to your liking. When compared to traditional wood carving tools, this tool will last longer since the blade can be extended out as it wears down from repeated sharpening.
With a 6mm broad cutting edge, this wood carving chisel is ideal for smoothing out backgrounds in relief carvings or creating flat surfaces in wood. This tool comes in a variety of blade sizes for cutting wood of various widths (each sold separately).
Approximate Dimensions & Product Data:

When adjusting the blade, use pliers or similar implements to remove the bolster before proceeding to pivot the handle's top half with the hinge pin until the blade and shank are exposed. Detach the blade from the handle by pulling the blade upwards until you free it from the wood. Sharpen the blade using whetstone before replacing the blade with the hook being in its original unseated position or with the blade extended in the case that multiple sharpenings have ground it down. Increments done on this blade should be spaced one centimetre apart so as to prevent the build-up of anchor points that destroy the chisel's handle. Keep off any adhesive or lubricant as the handle has enough friction to compress the blade in place. ensure that you minimize the backward pressure that you will use on the blade as this can deform the hook. Should your tool's hook stop functioning to hold the blade in place, it would be wise to contact the manufacturer for replacement. This tool will last for years with up to almost twice its original blade length when you take good care of it.
Please note: The blade edge is sharp, keep out of the reach of children. Store without the blade contacting any hard surface to avoid dulling the cutting edge.
