This tool is a premium quality Leather Edger that will last for years. Expertly built using polished ebony wood, designed to fit ergonomically in your hand, with a very sharp Japanese blade for beveling, held in place by a brass ferrule that prevents the handle and blade from splitting or seperating. The edger size number is engraved on the shank to help in differentiating every tool.
What sets the edge beveler apart is that it can be sharpened over and over again, ensuring you'll have a faithful tool lasting many years.
This No.4 Leather Pro Edger has a 1.4mm blade width which can be used for creating bevels to make folds on leather. It can also be used in removing excess welts on leathercraft and trimming out the lining of leather such as zipper slots. This tool is best used on thick leather.
Approximate Dimensions & Product Data:

- Ferrule (Machined brass)
- Blade (Steel)
- Blade Width: 1.4mm
To use this Leather Edger, place the leather flat on a workbench. Lay your free hand on top of the leather to keep it from moving while beveling. Hold the tool's handle firmly with your dominant hand and align the blade on the edge of the leather. To gain more control of the tool, place your index finger just about the end of the handle. Tilt the handle at about 45 degrees away from the leather. Then start running the tool along the edge of the leather to create beveled edges.
To sharpen the blade of this leather edge beveller place sandpaper of a high grit (#1000 or higher) on top a surface thick enough that it will allow the sandpaper to contact the cutting edge of the blade firmly, a metal rod 2mm thick is recommended. Apply mineral oil to the sandpaper, place the blade on the sandpaper with the rod or other implement underneath, with the cutting edge facing away from you, press down firmly and pull (don't push) the tool towards you. Repeat until the desired sharpness has been achieved, and strop along a leather surface to ensure a lasting sharpness.
Please note: The blade edge is sharp, keep away from reach of children.
