Punch evenly spaced stitching holes with this 2-pronged reversed hole punch from Oka, a premium leather tool manufacturer from Japan. This tool is tempered and each prong is sharpened one by one, providing you with exceptional and long-lasting service. This reversed leather stitch punch makes professional-grade stitch holes that appear in the opposite direction when compared to holes made by regular pricking irons, similar to the standard diamond hole punch, making it ideal for hand sewing leather. The non-slip handle of this tool fits nicely in your hand, allowing you to grip it securely and firmly when working on your leather projects.

Use this reverse hole punch as a pricking iron to mark where your awl should punch holes in your leather, or as a stitching punch to pierce diamond-shaped holes. This two-prong leather punch is perfect for punching holes in the corners and small curves of your leathercraft.

Size (space between prongs):

  • 5mm

Available prong numbers (each sold separately):

  • 2-prongs
  • 4-prongs
  • 6-prongs

The prongs on this tool are heavily tempered, which makes them extremely strong yet somewhat brittle, and overstressed prongs will break off rather than bend. This is by design, because the bent prongs of lower-quality pricking irons bend more quickly, potentially damaging your leatherwork by causing permanent uneven stitch holes if not noticed. The excellent tool's tempered prongs have a dual purpose: they safeguard your leatherwork from uneven stitching by breaking, rather than bending, when overstressed. Protecting you against uneven stitching while providing longer-lasting points that require less sharpening and have more penetrating force. This dual function is extremely useful since it provides you peace of mind, knowing that even a single irregular hole will not harm the leather masterpiece you've spent so much time creating.

Please keep in mind that the professional nature of this tool necessitates extra caution. Always use a soft-headed hammer (never a metal one) to gently tap it into your leatherwork. When removing it, pull it straight out of your leatherwork, never shifting it side to side to loosen it, since this might break the prongs. Avoid using leather that is so thick that it is difficult to remove. A larger pricking iron is advised if you work with leather that is thick enough to make removal difficult. Please keep this tool away from other tools and other objects, and do not drop or hit it against a hard surface.
