We bring you the Basco Leathercraft Red Leather Edge Dye. This leather edge dye comes in an 80ml (2.4 oz.) bottle together with an inbuilt applicator that makes dressing your leather ends a much easy process.

Ensure your edges are dressed professionally with this Basco leathercraft edge dye, formulated with flexible latex, this leather edge dressing comes with a built-in applicator and comes in many standard and exotic colours, including white, black, yellow, beige, dark brown, red, brown, navy blue, green and blue.

With only one or two application required for leather edges, this 80ml bottle will last for a long time. This leather edge dye is perfect for use on your leathercraft projects or on leather items such as bags and wallets. You can also use this leather edge dye to renew your factory leather goods.

Start by shaking it well and checking your vegetable-tanned leather for any treatment or contamination. Proceed to remove the outer and inner cap behind the applicator before attaching the applicator and saturating it in the dye edge. Run the applicator on the edge of your leatherwork until you attain the desired amount then leave it to dry as you wash the applicator. If you are working with factory treated leather or untreated vegetable-tanned leather, use fine-grit sandpaper to remove all the treatment.

Please note that our dyes are designed for use on vegetable-tanned leather only. This leather edge dye can also work on any leather that can absorb it. However, if your leather is sealed, it will not absorb the dye or enamel and might start peeling after a while. You can try to solve this by roughening up your leather edges using a sandpaper or Emory board, which will expose the absorbent or grain surface that you can apply the edge dye. This is not a guarantee that this method will work. Always take the necessary precautions to protect your leatherwork from damage by first using a disposable leather item to test this method. If you get the desired results, you can proceed to the actual project.
