Introducing the latex-based Basco Leathercraft Edge finish that comes in an 80ml (2.4 oz) bottle and an inbuilt applicator to help dress your leather edges and give them a professional shine.

Ensure your edges are dressed professionally with this Basco leathercraft edge dye, formulated with flexible latex, this leather edge dressing comes with a built-in applicator and comes in many standard and exotic colours, including white, black, yellow, beige, dark brown, red, brown, navy blue, green and blue.

This leather edge is perfect for use on leather items such as bags and wallets, and your leathercraft project that might involve the renewal of your factory leather goods. In most cases, you will only be required one or two coats. Therefore, an 80 ml bottle is guaranteed to last for long.

Before dressing your leather: start by shaking your leather edge dye then proceed to check whether your vegetable-tanned leather is free of any contamination or treatment. Remove the outer and inner cup located behind the applicator. Take the applicator and then reattach and saturate it with the edge dye before running it on the edge of your leatherwork and apply the desired amount then leave it to dry. Wash the applicator after you are done with it.

If your leather has factory treatment, use fine-grit sandpaper to remove it.

Please note that our dyes are designed for use on vegetable-tanned leather only. This leather edge dye can also work on any leather that can absorb it. However, if your leather is sealed, it will not absorb the dye or enamel and might start peeling after a while. You can try to solve this by roughening up your leather edges using a sandpaper or Emory board, which will expose the absorbent or grain surface that you can apply the edge dye. This is not a guarantee that this method will work. Always take the necessary precautions to protect your leatherwork from damage by first using a disposable leather item to test this method. If you get the desired results, you can proceed to the actual project.
