Historical background (why Miki City prospered as metal-working locale) In ancient times, Korean blacksmithing skills were combined with the traditional blacksmithing techniques of Japan’s Banshu region, resulting in major technological advances. After the Siege of Miki in the late 16th century, the warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi implemented various measures for the reconstruction of the damaged city. These measures resulted in the revitalization of commerce and industry, and created the foundation for the local metalworking industry that is still thriving today.
Originally, our company manufactured sickles for rice harvesting on consignment, and since the company was founded in 1979, we have continued to take on challenges such as manufacturing sculptures, providing sickle technology to China, and developing art teaching materials for schools.Â
Under such circumstances, we feel that we are required to make major changes in new aspects as the times change. The first is coexistence with the globalized international community. As a matter of course, the inheritance of the special technology of cutlery in Miki, which is a local industry, has become an inseparable close relationship with overseas pipes, and the specialized product power and proposal power required by customers.
