This superb Japanese woodcarving chisel from Michihamono is expertly made, and has a blade composed of high-quality Blue Paper Steel (Aogami No.2) that cuts smoothly and cleanly every time. The ergonomically designed handle is constructed of durable Japanese cypress wood and provides comfort and control during use. Blue Steel is a type of steel used to make sharp, high-quality Japanese cutting tools. It incorporates chromium and tungsten, which improves its wear resistance for longer-lasting sharpness. The handle is made of smooth Japanese cypress wood that won't splinter or be rough on the hands.
This tool is useful for carving your wood project's tight corners and edges. Its 3mm broad blade can also be utilized to carve fine details and lines.

- Cutting strokes should be only vertical (i.e., up or down), with minimal pressure applied,
- Horizontal shearing force, in any axis, should never be applied.
