An excellent sharpening stone, this Kuromaku melon-colored ceramic stone has a grit size of 8000, leaving a very fine polish. Depending on the degree of coarseness, Shapton Kuromaku sharpening stones come in a variety of colors. Because of their high abrasive composition, Shapton stones are excellent for sharpening or polishing an edge quickly and easily.

Each Shapton Kuromaku ceramic whetstone also comes with a plastic box that works both as a stone holder when sharpening and a case for storage. Whether the stone is out on your bench or stored in the box, the boxes are color-coded in the same way as the stones are, making it quick and easy to identify them.
