Takagi's unique ryoba nokogiri Japanese pull-saw that features both crosscut and rip teeth, making it ideal for a variety of tasks and an excellent all-around saw for small to medium tasks. The teeth are impulse hardened, resulting in a blade that is strong and resilient for extended life and use. Its blade is forged from a range of carbon and alloy steels that are well-suited to being turned into tools, such as this double-edged saw. Carbon tool steel is useful because of its hardness, resistance to wear and deformation, and ability to maintain a cutting edge at high temperatures.
It's especially useful for jobs that need both crosscutting and tearing. To reduce kerf binding, the blade is tapered, and somewhat thinner in the center than at the sides. It may be used for fine tasks such as cabinet installation or door construction.
