Founded in 1866 and established in 1940, Takagi Co., Ltd.'s company history is along with the milestones of hand tools manufacturing. In 1927, they constructed a new plant in Sanjo City and started manufacturing carpentry tools. At the same time, expanded the market to the north of China and Hokkaido. Now, the products they have exceeds a hundred thousand SKUs for both professional and DIY use, such as traditional carpenter tools, premium hand tools made by legendary blacksmiths, DIY tools, garden tools, and kitchenware.
Takagi's sales channels and sure quality are not only limited to inside Japan. They export their proprietary Shark Saws to countries in Europe and America. They also export Japanese-made chisels and planes (tool) that are loved by top-class violin artisans in Italy. In this way, they deliver “Made in Japan” products to the world. They have continued to manufacture tools that can be easily held in human hands. Takagi's first president started by forging saws, however, from the second generation onwards, the company also assumed trading functions in wholesaling edged tools, and this evolved into our subsequent business style. In over 150 years of Takagi’s history, they have always devoted themselves to manufacturing. The techniques and knowledge that we have nurtured as saw smith are utilized today in developing and making tools in our manufacturing division. Moreover, their spirit and vitality as a hardware wholesaler, which began with the start of trading with overseas markets in 1910, have been inherited by our trading division.
